- BYRGE, GARY LYNN, 52, of Coalfield, died Wednesday, April 20, 2005, atthe University of Tennessee Medical Center at Knoxville. The son ofAudie Byrge and Odessa Byrge, he was born Nov. 5, 1952, in AndersonCounty and was a lifelong resident of this area. Mr. Byrge had workedfor over 20 years as a coal miner with West Coal Company. He was alsoa U.S. Army veteran, and was a Baptist. He was preceded in death byhis father, Audie Byrge. Mr. Byrge is survived by his mother, OdessaByrge of Coalfield; special friend, Donna Bunch of Oak Ridge; twobrothers, Jeffrey Byrge and Billy Byrge and wife, Royye, all of OakRidge; two sisters, Mildred Roysden of Oak Ridge, and Dena Armes ofClaxton; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and extended familymembers; and by many special friends. The funeral will be at 8 p.m.Sunday, April 24, 2005, in the chapel of Sharp Funeral Home in OliverSprings with the Rev. James Adkins officiating. The graveside serviceand burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday, April 25, at the Estes Cemeteryin Coalfield, with full military honors. The family will receivefriends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Sharp FuneralHome in Oliver Springs in charge of arrangements. [Oak Ridger]
